Point of the Mountain Water Transmission System Facilities Project - Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake & Sandy (MWDSLS)
BC&A is currently developing a conceptual level design for the new water
transmission system facilities required to connect the future Point of the
Mountain Water Treatment Plant (POMWTP) to the LCWTP. The estimated
construction cost for the project is $90 million.
The project involves a detailed routing study for the
Point of the Mountain Aqueduct (approximately 63,000 feet of 60-inch plus
pipeline), and conceptual level design of the aqueduct, four booster pump
stations, a raw water intake structure, and raw and finished water storage
facilities. BC&A is managing an extensive coordination effort with project
“stake holders” that will be affected by the new facilities, including
Salt Lake City, Sandy City, Draper City, JVWCD, Central Utah Water
Conservancy District, Salt Lake County, Utah Department of Transportation,
Dimple Dell Park Advisory Board, neighborhood associations, and public
advisory groups. The project is scheduled for completion by mid-summer of
2006.
