Water Resource/Drainage Engineer (0-5 Years) – Utah and Idaho

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Bowen Collins & Associates is a civil and environmental engineering firm specializing in providing water and wastewater related consulting services to clients in the intermountain west. As a water resources engineer, you will work with and under the direction of other engineers and environmental scientists to plan, design, and oversee construction on projects including components of water resources planning, water and wastewater treatment, water transmission, sewer collection, stormwater drainage, flood control, groundwater management, and/or environmental services.

JOB TYPE: Full-time

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • O to 5 years of experience for entry level position
  • Understanding of water resources, hydraulics, and hydrology
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills
  • Capable of working efficiently with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal staff
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineer in Training (EIT)

Senior Hydrogeologist – Draper, Utah

JOB DESCRIPTION 

As a senior hydrogeologist, you will work with other hydrogeologists, environmental scientists and engineers to lead the hydrogeology efforts on projects including components of field investigations, data management, construction management, technical writing, groundwater investigation, and water well design.

JOB TYPE: Full-time

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Geology, Engineering or Environmental Science.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Strong understanding of geology, physical hydrogeology, surface, and subsurface hydrogeology
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in geologic logging of boreholes, monitoring well installation, oversight of water well drilling and installation, oversight of well hydraulic testing, and groundwater and surface water sampling and flow measurements
  • Capable of working efficiently with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal staff
  • Willingness to travel for field work as dictated by project demands (remote locations and outside work in various climates)
  • GIS and AutoCAD software experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency with a variety of hydraulic and hydrologic computer modeling programs
  • Understanding of the Division of Drinking Water (DDW) rules and regulations and Division of Water Rights (DWRi) rules and regulations

  • MSHA surface new miner training desired
  • HAZWOPER 40-HR training desired

Senior Landscape Architect (10-15 Years) – Draper, Utah

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a senior landscape architect, you will have the opportunity to work with a Principal Landscape Architect, landscape designer, environmental scientists, and engineers on projects related to design, construction management, environmental planning, technical writing, and project management of landscape design projects.

JOB TYPE: Full or Part-Time

EDUCATION: A master’s or bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to facilitate public meetings.
  • Develop plans that include plantings plans, irrigation plans, site plans, and master plans.
  • Knowledge and ability to work in AutoCAD, Land F/X, Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, SketchUp, Lumion, Microsoft Suite.
  • Design, illustration, and computer rendering skills.
  • Conduct routine site evaluations, field work, and analysis using approved procedures appropriate for your discipline.
  • Assist in identifying issues and problem solving, including reviewing regulations as appropriate.
  • Stay current with the primary technical literature for your degreed discipline.
  • Organize and present data and illustrations suitable for reports and client presentations.
  • Write clear and concise technical reports and technical memoranda.
  • Assist with client marketing efforts and proposal development, as directed.
  • Perform all work in accordance with standard company and client Health & Safety protocols.
  • Ensure that all your work is reviewed before it is delivered in draft of final.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Registered Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) is required.
